Time Is a Tyrant - It Turns You Into Its Slave

Angelica Araya, Chile

When I was a child
I wanted my daddy to go fishing with me
just the two of us for a whole week
but important customers were coming from abroad
and he didn’t have time ---- you see.

When I was a teenager
I wanted my family to come and see my
performance in a funny play
but Mom had to mop the kitchen
my sister had an appointment with the hairdresser
and daddy couldn’t miss the final football match on TV
and they didn’t have time ---- you see.

I wonder why we don’t give enough time
for the really important things in life.

Now I am an adult
and I want to have a family and kids on my own

But I need to save money to change my old car,
my boss is demanding we increase sales all the time
and as it is difficult to find a nice girl
I think I will try a blind date
cause I need to give sense to my life
but you see -------- I don’t have enough time.
