In solitude
The caterpillar
The magic of the sea
A mother's love
In solitude we take the time to think
and appreciate God's glorious gifts.
In solitude we take the time to pray
and connect with those in need.
Solitude is a time to meditate,
a time to reflect and realize,
how lucky we truly are,
to have family and friends
so close to our hearts.
It was still early morning,
the sun was just rising,
when a tiny and ugly caterpillar
appeared among the dewy and thick foliage,
crawling around, with his flimsy little legs.
Unhappy with his dull and flat existence,
the caterpillar longed to gain his wings and fly away.
Trapped in a form which felt alien and odd,
the caterpillar was mocked day and night
by his fellow moths,
and dreamt about a day,
when he would turn into a beautiful butterfly.
The caterpillar yearned to push free of his tight cocoon,
wishing to feel the gentle heat of the sun,
upon his wrinkled and newborn form,
wishing to flap his young wings
towards the bright blue sky,
never to return to his vacant shell.
As we stroll along the beach,
with our feet delving into the soft sand,
a light breeze strokes our sultry cheeks.
The evening is warm and quiet,
the sun is about to set,
while the gentle lapping of the waves,
reaches our senses.
We are taken by the beauty of the moment,
by the sights and sounds surrounding us,
while the sea with its magic,
enchants us.
A mother's smile
will lighten our days,
and warm our hearts
in wonderful ways.
A mother's hug
will soothe our tears,
and quieten our worries and fears.
A mother's love
will remain with us forever,
to treasure and cherish together.
