Pilgrims News

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the new Pilgrims Canterbury Blog!

Pilgrims Teacher Training has great reputation for modern effective and fun methods for teachers to use in classrooms. Pilgrims continually provides and develops new ideas, creative ways to help your students learn English. And you have the opportunity to attend a Pilgrims Teacher Training and this is made easy through EU funding.

Sometimes even with the best activities in the world there is something beyond the activity that interferes with and stops learning. The thing that lies beyond activities is how we are being as a teacher. At Pilgrims we want you “to be the teacher you want to be”.

You can be the teacher you want to be easily and in the comfort of sitting behind your own computer when you go to our Pilgrims blog – www.pilgrimscanterbury.com - there you will find inspiring articles on the secrets to effective performance, both as a teacher and learner.

The blogs give you valuable insights into being who you really want to be. Enjoy reading it.

Teachers as Leaders

Course summary

Teachers tend not to think of themselves as leaders but increasingly they are having to play a leadership role in the lives of their pupils and students. In the words of John Adams “A teacher affects eternity: no-one can tell where the influence stops.

The word education is from the Latin educare: “the process of drawing out the latent talents of the individual”. Leadership is exactly the same process and involves the same skill set and personal attributes. This course will draw out your own leadership qualities and therefore enable you to be all the more effective as a teacher.
