Magical Christmas

Starlit night, blue drops of ice, true emotions
Tears of joy, frosty Christmas tide, eyes wide open
As the Kings bring forth all their magnificent joys
Children’s hearts swell bulging, warmed to the core

Oh God bless, can this really be
Such joy from sharing close to thee?
I’ve seen them up close from afar
Those kids, their hearts, humble pride, full ajar

High expectations for what is nigh
Although Unexpected, undreamed of is king every time
For enclosed within is what matters not
Life’s experience is simply what always comes first

Those thoughts, like memories play out our tunes
Thro’ years, later on they come back, write the truth
Toys, sweets, textures gold tinsel sparkling
Soft, sensual, flames in the grate slowly dwindling

Wait up for what’s special, whatever he’s bringing
Santa, Three Wise Kings, Christmas bells joy are ringing
Children’s hearts hear the twilight, elves off singing
On the job, sleigh packed up high, reindeers snorting, frantic leaping

Innocence and hope write the story of old
Of Christmas of love and of glory once told
Of a wish that is special to those who are near
And to those, so afar that only in dreams can they hear

Ride the crest, brave the way before your chance turns
When dreams are smashed like embers fast burned
As the secret of Christmas lies in all of our hearts
We only need faith, sprinkled lavishly with love

And those that can hear the tune from afar
Like the Polar Express bearing a message of love
Don’t deny what is yours and theirs for the giving
Tomorrow’s so close and today is fast ending

Don’t leave for tomorrow what yesteryear sung
Past is too late to begin what has gone
Clutch firm your belief that all is in reach
Hold fast to the joy that to others we bring.

Make way for your wishes while Yule logs burn
As 12th night approaches, so futures can turn
Hold out your hands, receive gracefully what’s yours
But remember true happiness lies in giving without cause.

May the magic of Christmas remain always in your hearts. Christmas 2009
