A Paradox

We come from the womb
Only to go into a tomb;
While in between
We philosophize about life,
And language teaching!

Memories of an EFL Course

Paul Bress

Remember the students' names
Remember their nationalities
Remember to tell them this and that
Remember to bring all your hand-outs
Remember to fill in the register
Remember to record what you've taught
Remember to follow the programme
Remember the code for the staffroom and photocopier
Remember your username and password
Remember to check your emails
Remember to attend staff meetings
Remember what you're told to do there
Oh, I almost forgot
Remember to live

Love's is behind the watchmaker's pocket

Mike Shreeve

I saw this morning's yearning
Turn to a sunset that is burning
Through the night time of silence
Frozen polar stars hold their pulses
And in the in-between of spinning
And the drawing of the night time breath
Every moment is the beating of a cosmic heart
And every substance exists in love and dies a loving death to
See the morning's yearning and the cloud's unknowing burning
And watch its catching breath
