Downloadable Worksheets from Tune into English March and April 2016

Fergal Kavanagh, Italy

The Foggy Dew
On Easter Monday 1916, Irish rebels occupied Dublin’s General Post Office in the defining moment of the struggle for Irish independence. The centenary of this rebellion is being commemorated throughout 2016 in Ireland, and this worksheet uses The Foggy Dew to recount those events 100 years ago.

What Do You Mean? – Justin Bieber
By far the biggest cheer in this year’s Roadshow is for this song – this worksheet by Mena Bianco focuses on Present Simple vs Present Continuous and stative verbs vs dynamic verbs.

We Are Young – fun.
To celebrate the Roadshow’s 10th anniversary, each month we are publishing a worksheet for one song from each tour. This song first appeared in 2012-2013, and has featured in every show since.

Over 280 Downloadable worksheets now online (including a selection of Irish worksheets to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, on the 17th March).
Most of the worksheets have been written by your colleagues – perhaps you have prepared one and want to share it?

Romeo And Juliet – Dire Straits
The 23rd April marks the 400th anniversary of the death of Shakespeare. This worksheet for this song, based on perhaps his best-known play, was written by Mena Bianco, Naples.

God Save The Queen
Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 90th birthday on 21st April. The worksheet for Great Britain’s national anthem was written by Roy Boardman, who was awarded an M.B.E. at Buckingham Palace in 1989 for his work in building up cultural relations between Italy and the UK.

Somebody That I Used To Know - Gotye (feat. Kimbra)
To celebrate the Roadshow’s 10th anniversary, each month we are publishing a worksheet for one song from each tour. This song appeared in 2012-2013, and the worksheet was written by first-time contributor Laura Laura Piermartiri from Grottammare (AP).
