Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated on the 4th April, 50 years ago. This song was the theme of the Civil Rights Movement and Dr. King quoted from it in his final sermon. Wake Me Up – Avicii
The music world was shocked by the sudden death of Swedish DJ Avicii late last month – regular contributor Mena Bianco has prepared a crossword grammar review activity for his 2013 hit Wake Me Up. This was the closing track of 2014-2015 Tune Into English Roadshow
– you can see a video here.
Volare – Dean Martin
Despite only finishing third in the 1958 contest, 60 years ago, Volare can probably claim to be the most commercially successful Eurovision song of all time. This low-level worksheet uses pictures and a puzzle for Dean Martin’s partly English-language version of Domenico Modugno’s Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu. This was a favourite in the the 2007 to 2009 Tune Into English Roadshow – you can see a video here.
