Pilgrims Course Outline

A new Pilgrims Venture in UK

Pilgrims has launched into teaching ESL to unemployed people in North West London in collaboration with Working Links, a private company that is paid by Government agencies to get people back to work. To this end Working Links offers long term unemployed people a wide range of enabling courses of which ESL is simply one.

Some teachers in the Pilgrims network have jumped at the chance of this new area. Some of us find great excitement in working with people for whom learning English is a life need.

The students on the first course, which is currently half way through, are mainly refugees from places like Somalia, Kosova, Albania, Afghanistan etc….. Humanistic ways of teaching take on new meaning in this kind of context.
