A teenage letter to an email pal

(You might want to use this email as an example of how to start off an email correspondence. There may be some students in your group who are fazed by the idea of writing to folk they do not yet know " What am I to say to them?")

Hi Janice,

I'm Sabrina Asselman. I am fourteen and I live in Antwerp, somewhere in thenorth of Belgium.

I go to school in Wilrijk. The name of my school is St-Ursula. We have to wear a uniform and actually I don't like that!
My hobbies are chatting on the computer and exchanging e-mail messages with my friends. My favourite sport is Gym (I'm a big fan of Andrea Raducan, Svetlana Korkhina and Anna Pavlova) and I love dancing, swimming and volleyball too, so actually I'm a real sports freak.

What else do I like doing in my spare time? Well, I listen to music (I adore Eminem & D12, Jojo, Leki, Anastacia, R Kelly, Nelly and Kelly Rowland a lot!) and hang out with my friends from school and the neighbourhood.

I went on vacation in Mexico. I met a sweet boy there. Max is from Cambridge. I spent most of the time with him! Now I hardly ever see him but we often exchange messages. When I wasn't hanging around with him, I visited the Dolphinarium from my parents' friends. My dolphin friend there was named Sparky. I was very keen on him and I miss him now...
Last weekend I got an e-mail from that Dolphinarium in Mexico. They asked me to come back next summer. I hope we will, because I had a great time last summer!
What about your summer holidays? Who did you spend your holidays with and where did you go?

There's a lot going on at my place while I'm writing you this e-mail message. My big sister Davina is talking to her boyfriend on the phone while she's watching TV (actually a quite boring discussion!!). My little sister and brother Anke and Tim are running in the house, they're playing a stupid game with a couple of friends from the neighbourhood. My mum is preparing dinner, while my dad is cleaning the floor (my sister dropped somethingsticky on it).

And I? Well, first I was trying to study for tomorrow's tests (English - my favourite subject - and Maths - my worst one!) but there is so much noise around and in the house so I'm sending you an e-mail.
What are you doing at the moment? Big noise at your place too?
