Dr. N. Pratheeba has done her M.A. in English from Annamalai University in the year 1995 and M.Phil in the year 2002 from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. She has been awarded PhD degree in English in the month of December 2008 by Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, Tamilnadu, India. After serving as an English faculty for a brief period in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, she has worked in Sri Kaliswari College, Sivakasi as the HOD of English Department from the year 2000-2007. She has many publications in Journals and conferences to her credit. At present, she is employed at Kamaraj College of Engineering and technology. Her area of interest is Poetry writing and English Language Teaching.

Terrorists – Made or Born

Freedom

Water is the elixir of life; Likewise,
Freedom is the essence of life.
Freedom is the hinge around which humanity revolves;
Freedom is the pivot around which civilization emerges;
Freedom is the portmanteau word for social equality;
Freedom is the valid passport for economic equality;
Freedom is the ultimate token for Universal fraternity;
Erase the misuse of freedom to tame your untamed potential;
Harness the concept of Freedom to unleash your pep and vigor;
Get tuned up to the times by remembering your heritage;
Dissolve all the social boundaries to be a global village;
Keep your antediluvian notions at bay to be more scientific;
Make your attempts in a steadfast manner and
Have a one track mind to be triumphant;
And in the rat-race for the execution of freedom,
Accept that life is a cycle of opposites;
And in the long run when freedom blossoms into flowers of progress—
Have faith in the author of your destiny
To make joy dwell in your heart and get enveloped in rapturous delight!

Terrorists – Made or Born

All men are born free
All men are born equal and
All men are born blissful
But why is it such benign oodles of
Serene humility turns out to outcasts and outlaws?
It’s high time we wiped out the tear from the face of this earth,
It’s high time we catered to the needs of the billion mouths here,
It’s high time we created employment opportunities in the right stead,
It’s high time we channelized the pep and vigor of the youth properly,
And of course, a word to the youth---
Sow the seeds of humanism in your hearts,
Foster a sense of fraternity among your fellow counterparts,
Hone your vocational skills to encounter underemployment,
Nourish agrarian interests to encounter unemployment,
Treat white collar jobs on par with blue and pink collar jobs,
Follow the above rules to ensure peace and harmony;
Then,
This global village will become an earthly paradise;
And all the denizens will become ambassadors of peace;
For, terrorists are made and not born!
