Easter 2006 at Pilgrims in Canterbury, UK
						
						
						
							
						Are you planning to attend one of our courses in 2006? It's not too late to book a place on our Easter courses.  
						So why attend a course at Easter instead of summer?
  
						
						- The courses are only a week long, if you can't spare two weeks of your time.
  
						
						- You get the chance to stay with one of Pilgrims warm and welcoming host families.
  
						
						- You get to train at our training centre right in the middle of Canterbury, a 2-minute walk from the Cathedral and shops.

						What's New in Language Teaching
						
						This course looks at all the latest ideas and techniques in ELT. 
						Topics will include: 
						- A taste of NLP  
						- A taste of Multiple Intelligences 
						- The impact of Corpus Linguistics. (Authentic English vs. old fashioned, stylised English)  
						- The impact of The Lexical Approach 
						- The principled use of Mother Tongue in the classroom 
						- The critical role of Cultural Awareness in language teaching and learning

						British Life, Language & Culture
						
						The course is a mixture of:  
						- data/information collection on British Culture 
						- update on current English usage
  
						
						Central to your work on this course  will be visits and also guest speakers from all walks of life. 
						
						Topics will include:  
						- issues of class and gender in British Society 
						- youth culture 
						- changes in education and their effects on parents, teachers and children 
						- the changing world of work 
						- how the British enjoy themselves 
						- law and order in Britain today 
						- Stereotypes of Britain and the British - how true are they?  
						- multiculturalism in Britain 
						- the problems of today's society and what they can tell us 
						- the relation between language and culture
