MARBLE AND MUD

We walk the mud of our lives
Each day more proudly than before.
We plot our itineraries over a cup of coffee
In the morning sun.
We go East today and West tomorrow.

We expect to be found on our way;
We expect to receive more and more;
We never admit we should look for IT;
We never admit we should also give.

A ray of sun glitters in the mud
We look closer and we see
The piece of horizontal marble laying on the ground
It is our tomb.

HOROSCOPE

Your words are my daily horoscope
I need no stars to guide me.
I listen to no other source,
I gasp at every change of intonation.
I calm down at the full stop.

Your words are my daily horoscope
I sometimes stop and listen to the other’s words
And then I feel depressed and angry
But then I remember -
I make no compromise
Your words are my daily horoscope.

I ignore your presence
I shut my ears
I close my eyes
I clench my fists and glue my teeth

And still, your words are my daily horoscope…

THE GUEST

You are a guest in my dream for
Some time, now. You don’t seem bothered.
You’ve entered my house and began to change it.
I had a green wall that
you’ve breached somehow. Now it’s gray.

I wish you leaved my dream
But, then where would you go?
Would you transcend into my reality?
Would you come into my life?
Or would you choose to live in my death?
For the moment I prefer you surreal.

“I am a coward,” I might add.

A PERMANENT DISPLAY

The zephyr blew my ashes away.
I buried my heart today,
Then I burnt my dreams
Thus – the ashes.

They are scattered all over the world
My burnt dreams will rain on you
They will fly in the air and get stuck in your hair.

I gave up my dreams so that you may have them.
Each dream that touches you
is built in me, is part of me.
I thought it’s too expensive to dream
But now I see that it’s not.
It’s for free!

What we once shared is now displayed…

SEQUENCE

A grain of truth on an abrupt curve
Might fall into its center.

A line of deeds may cross this center.
If broken, all its points may scatter
But any three of them will be a sequence – a new born line.

So, you see, it’s you and me, and a grain of truth.

IN REVERSE

My thoughts in reverse would be worth no more.
I carefully planned and over-analyzed them all.
The process of making is a genetical one
For before me was Grandma and pretty much everyone.

I cannot let them down.

You are always telling me how
Bugged you are by my over-analyzing mood;
“It is perpetual and does no good,”
you say and then you take a bow.

My way through time cannot be linear;
My words will never “just flow”
The stream of time and thoughts
Juxtaposes the map of my mind.
It’s like a treasure hunt in which
The prize is not the incentive in itself.

My journey is analyzed. Explained. Learned.

BREATH OF LIFE

A straw is something quiet.
It is the wind that blows through it that
Exhibits its music.

I am that straw.
You inhabit me. You are my music.
I am the straw that swivels on your breath
Or is perhaps your breath that whirls inside me?

THE CITY SQUARE

Everyone has a cheerful mood today;
Even the old and over-experienced ones.
There’s a great hypocritical parade
For no one can be truly cheerful all day.

Everyone is busy controlling their mimicry;
Each acts and re-enacts their happiest day
Each buries truth in the sand.

DICHOTOMOUS

Do I decide or make up my mind?
Do I like an argument or a dispute?
Do I debate or just consult?
Do I have an exchange or a dialogue?

Do I make a gesture or I simply act?
Do I wear a mask or just cover my face?
Do I measure correctly or I take upon action instead?
Do I behave accordingly or I restrain myself?
Do I play a role or perform an act?
Do I stunt my deeds or step up?

Do I know the precise answer or just the accurate details?
