Letter 1

Dear Hania,

I've just received the newsletter and I am deeply saddened to hear about the loss of our dear friend. It is impossible to forget Bonnie, her free spirit, her boundless creativity, her uniquely individual personality. She was a source of love and inspiration to us at Practical English Teaching and to the many teachers who took part in the joint Pilgrims/PET courses back in the '90s. I wish her well on her new journey. She will amaze all those she encounters.

Janet Olearsky

Letter 2

Thank you Hania for the deeply felt goodbye to Bonnie. This was sad news indeed. It is still hard to believe that dear Bonnie is no longer here with her amazing energy and love. I really felt the need to share my condolences with the people that knew and loved her and you made this possible through the Pilgrims community.

My deepest condolences and a very fond thought to all the people that are mourning this very special person that Bonnie was and still is in our hearts and memory.

All the best, please give my love to Mario, Chaz, Simon and all the lovely "Pilgrims"

Gigliola Pagano

Letter 3

I am so sorry I could not write in time an in memoriam message for Bonnie, for the latest issue of HLT, that of December 2014. Indeed devastating news. Anything can happen in this life at no notice or short notice (though sometimes useless still!)

I have her in my phone picture album, during one of her, and Pilgrims training courses, in Pitesti, Romania. The date was around 3-rd -4th April 2009-certainly that date, when she held two consecutive days of Creative Methodology training sessions. I never deleted those pictures from my already quite heavy phone archive, and I have one pic taken especially with her, and another one, also while she was in the middle of her demonstrations. I used to browse through her pictures precisely during that workshop quite often.

I am working on my notes concerning her, and her methodology, as this sad event is also inspiring in many ways, spiritual and intellectual mainly!

Many thoughts coming, but the best words are not sometimes that easy to find in such circumstances. Memories and past experience are just kept there, tied up, and words also, almost unutterable, frozen, because of the emapathy of pain and grief for our human condition. Words are sometimes blocked by the tears and this common feeling of grief that we have as if coming from our stomach and holding tight and mercilessly, in both spiritual and physical ways, our chest.

With warm regards,

Consuela Popa

Dear Hania Kryszewska,

It was with great sadness that Cambridge Scholars Publishing learned of the death of Professor Heather Höpfl in early autumn. Heather, a leading expert and an inspiring pioneer in Management Psychology, sadly died on 3rd September 2014.

She was a valued and respected member of our Editorial Advisory Board, and those who were honoured to have had the chance to get to know her were immediately struck by her intelligence, warmth and pragmatism.

We have dedicated our last communication of 2014 to commemorate Heather’s life, her academic success and the significant legacy she leaves behind. To mark her contribution to her specialism and the wider academic community in general, we have named the author space at our Lady Stephenson Library headquarters, the Heather Höpfl room.

Please click here to read more about her inspirational work in academia, and a moving tribute written by her friend and colleague, Professor Emeritus David Weir.

Dear Hania Kryzsewska,

This November marks the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall – on the 9th November 1989, Berliners from both sides of the ‘Iron Curtain’ wrote their own history. Germany was divided for 40 years; two generations. And yet, it is still possible to sense entrenched psychological differences between Ossis and Wessis. To commemorate the 25th anniversary, and to reflect on the cultural, social and economic diversity of East and West Germany, we are offering a 50% discount on 4 of our best-selling titles related to this subject. Click here, to read more.

Also this month, Cambridge Scholars Publishing is very pleased to announce that we have been ranked fourth in the ‘World’s Top Ranked Publishers’ list, as compiled by the Library of Social Science. For more information, please click here.

The Editorial Advisory Board’s ‘Recommended Reads’ – this month Professor Chrissie Harrington has selected her pick from our best-selling and critically acclaimed titles, at a 50% discount. Please click here to view her choice.

New Releases – be the first to know about our new and noteworthy titles. Our Editors have hand-picked 6 titles that are generating a buzz, spanning the following subjects: Language and Literature, History, Social Science, Philosophy, Political Science, and Religion. Best of all, these are reduced by up to 50%. Please click on our homepage to view the selection.

Happy reading!
