Creative Output
Authored by Hall Houston, Gerhard Erasmus

Creative Output is a teacher's resource book for the most challenging stage of an ESL/EFL lesson - the production stage. Within these pages, you will find a diverse range of speaking and writing activities for fluency practice. In addition, this book describes the essential qualities of effective speaking and writing activities and shows how they fit into a successful lesson.

"This book is truly a must-have for any language teachers keen on fostering spoken and written fluency in a fun and engaging way across the whole age and ability spectrum. This little masterpiece offers a wide range of ingenious low prep / high impact tasks that fuel creativity whilst challenging the learner in a principled way. Part A, in which the authors discuss their sound pedagogic approach to promoting creative output in the oral and written medium, is a real gem of wisdom and clarity which pre-service and novice teachers will particularly benefit from. I strongly recommend this book."

Gianfranco Conti, PhD. co-author of the bestselling book 'The Language Teacher toolkit', winner of the 2015 TES best resource contributor award, founder of www.language-gym.com, and former Oxford University researcher.

"Based on pedagogically sound principles, Erasmus and Houston have produced this fantastic resource for teachers around the world to dip into, to adapt to the abilities and needs of our students, and to motivate them to produce language and negotiate meaning. Every staffroom needs one of these."

Chia Suan Chong, teacher trainer, communication skills trainer and English Teaching Professional's resident blogger (www.etprofessional.com) since 2012.

"Looking for student output that goes beyond the straightforward discussion task or composition writing? Look no further. Houston and Erasmus think outside the box and bring loads of new creative ideas to the language classroom."

Lindsay Clandfield, author of Teaching Online (Delta), Moral Dilemmas (the round) and Interaction Online (CUP)
