Pilgrims Course Outline

What's new for Easter and Summer 2004?

The 30th Anniversary Pilgrims Conference

1 week, August 22nd to 28th, 2004

If you come you will be able to enjoy:
3 six hours workshops of your choice
5 plenaries
3 evening events

Topics, themes and speakers will be announced in November's issue of HLT

If next year's conference is as warm, friendly and informative as the one we held in 1999 to celebrate our 25th anniversary, it will be a corker.

You might want to go on from our conference to the brilliant LEND Humanistic Conference that starts in Portonovo , central Italy, on August 29th.
Ryanair will fly you there from UK for almost nothing.

Fun, Laughter and Learning in the Classroom
15th-21st of August, 2004

If you want to spend a fortnight on our Canterbury Hilltop, why not come on this course and then carry through into the Conference?

To bring laughter, humour and swirling energy into a classroom is way of
a) sweeping away discipline problems
b) renewing your own energy
c) opening your students' minds to fast learning

Using the Mother Tongue effectively in the Classroom
15th-21st of August, 2004

Again you can combine this course with the Conference.
However you should not attend the course if you believe that students learn an L2 completely without reference to the mother tongue or if your inspectors might have you guillotined for murmuring a syllable of Mother Tongue in your English classroom.
If you are part of the growing rebellion against pure Direct Method, then this is the course for you.
On this course, we only accept people endowed with common sense!

Multiple Intelligences for the Primary Classroom

25th of July to 7th of August, 2004

Pilgrims has run fortnight-long M.I. courses for teachers of all age groups over several years now.
In this course you will learn M.I-inspired, practical techniques aimed specifically at pupils in the 5 to 12 year old age bracket.
If you work in primary, then this is surely the course for you.

Easter 2004 - Humanising Grammar and Correction
4th-10th of April

You could fit this course in with going to the IATEFL International Conference in Liverpool which runs from the 13th of April to the 17th.

You would have a free, long weekend between our course and the Conference.

Grammar is too central not to be fun and this course shows you many different approaches to teaching the subject, covering Grammar and movement

    Grammar as the cognitive focus
    Grammar and meaning
    Grammar and affect

How you can pay

Pilgrims has just recently noticed that the D-mark, the French Franc, the Spanish peseta etc..have all become EUROS.

For all courses in 2004 you have the choice of paying in either Euros or the off-shore island currency, sterling. We quote our prices based on 1.5 euros = 1 pound sterling. On the day you pay you may find it better to transfer money to us in one currency or the other. Your choice.
