STUDENT VOICES

Two Five Year Old Voices

Sumbitted by Mario Rinvolucri, UK

The teacher told the reception class to draw an apple.
One little boy burst into tears.
She cuddled him and asked him why he was crying.
“ Cos the apples all have worms in!”
“ Draw a banana then” … and his face brightened up.

( Note: the boy’s parents were fruit farmers)

(Serbian primary class, 2008)

The nun told the class to draw apples, red ones.
One boy drew a particularly good one and the nun gave him a penny as a prize.
“ Mother, I can’t take it !”
His parents had told him never to take money form people outside the family.

( North Wales primary class, 1945)
