Dear HLT Readers,
I am beginning this editorial with sad news. Bonnie Tsai, a Pilgrims trainer, is with us no more. In a joint article In Memoriam Bonnie Tsai her colleagues and friends are remembering Bonnie and saying their goodbyes.
Also in the course outline section you will find three articles: Session on British Life and Culture in the 21st Century by Bonnie Tsai by Anna Nacewicz and Bartosz Czerwiński, Learning Styles by Bonnie Tsai by Magdalena Jodłowska, and Session on Listening Skills and Rapport by Bonnie Tsai by Beata Długozima and Alina Mazurkiewicz. The authors describe teacher training sessions they attended during a teacher training course run at Pilgrims at the end of August 2014. To the best of my knowledge this was the last course Bonnie delivered.
As for Pilgrims news there are some developments that might interest you. Firstly, Pilgrims will run young learners courses again. For more information read Pilgrims News - Young Learners Courses, and do not miss the information that if you send students to the course there will be some benefit for you too. Secondly, Pilgrims will run a conference in Portonovo, Italy every second year. Portonovo conferences organised in the past by Valeria Galleriani have established their reputation for perfectly run conferences in a perfect venue which offer sessions and mini courses delivered by outstanding trainers to exceptional teachers. The first Pilgrims Portonovo Conference will be organised by Valeria too, and will take place in 2015. So read the information below and reserve the time.
We are glad to announce the Pilgrims ELT Conference 2015@Portonovo, Ancona - Italy, a marvellous dream spot (www.hotelfortino.it) from August 26th – August 29th 2015

Dear Colleague,
We are proud to be organizing GlobELT: An international conference on teaching and learning English as an additional language (GlobELT 2015 Conference) in Antalya, Turkey on 16-19 April 2015. May I, therefore, cordially invite you to visit our website at www.globeltconference.com for further information.
The conference is organised under the supervision of scholars from Hacettepe University (Turkey), ELT Department in collaboration with INTESOL Turkey and Informascope. The GlobELT conference aims to provide a large number of scholars and presenters with a friendly stimulating atmosphere where they can exchange ideas and get constructive feedback on their work.
We truly hope to provide a far-reaching outlet for our participants' work. We are pleased to inform that we are in the process of contracting with Elsevier's Procedia - Social and Behavioral Sciences for the inclusion of our conferences proceedings as a Procedia volume. Alternatively, we have two supporting journals that are willing to give priority to full length papers originating from GlobELT conference. International Online Journal of Education and Teaching (www.iojet.org) and Eurasian Journal of Applied Linguistics (www.ejal.eu) have already expressed intention of support in our efforts of disseminating research findings and ideas to be presented in the course of our GlobELT 2015 Conference if, of course, our delegates should choose them as an outlet for their work.
We have so far been fortunate to secure three important keynote speakers: Rod Ellis, David Newby, and Gülcan Erçetin, who are all prominent scholars in our field. We are also in touch with several other distinguished scholars in the field and hope to host them for the conference. Invited speakers, we believe, will turn the whole event into an inspiring experience. As well as our international keynote speakers, we also hope to host many local and international ELT researchers at our annual event.
The conference will be held at the beautiful Porto Bello Resort & Spa Hotel in Antalya, Turkey. We believe the venue and the timing of the event is as charming as the idea of sharing and disseminating our work. The conference hotel is a gorgeous five star luxurious resort, operating on an all-inclusive basis for our presenters' joy and comfort. Antalya and the region should also be extremely pleasant and fragrant in this merry month of April. We believe our participants will be able to find plenty to do in their free times.
We sincerely hope that this conference will create a friendly occasion for all of us to share perspectives and research findings from a wide variety of educational contexts. We also dearly value possible friendships and partnerships made and insights gained at the conference and hope they will go beyond your participation in the conference, leading to better understanding and appreciation of our profession from an international stance. We, therefore, are looking forward to welcoming and hosting you at Porto Bello Resort & Spa Hotel, Antalya, Turkey on April 16-19, 2015.
See you in Antalya.
